Food Around Us is a walk series that explores the plants quietly existing within our everyday surroundings. Initiated by Saloni Gajjar and Mansi Shah, the series invites participants to notice what often goes unseen- the edible, medicinal, and culturally significant species growing right in our neighbourhoods.

The walks are as much about observation as they are about connection. Participants are encouraged to engage their senses- touch, smell, taste – and to share personal memories, stories, and associations linked to these plants. This exchange becomes a vital part of the experience, creating a shared understanding rooted not just in knowledge, but in lived experience.
Food Around Us is an invitation to slow down, look closely, and rediscover the richness of the landscapes we inhabit – through the lens of food, culture, and community.

Walk 1: 2026 April 4, 8:00- 9:30 AM @Symphony Forest Park, Ahmedabad
